Being POSH

Just got back from Utah, where I joined 22 other female visual artists from around the country for the POSH Retreat. As usual, I’ve come back inspired, recharged, and recommitted to my company, and to the women who provide the support network, a small, specialized, female run company like Sixpence needs.  Since I landed back in Florida, I’ve been reflecting on POSH Retreat’s of years past. Below is a link to an article I wrote for Event DV after the inaugural POSH in 2010, but I want to call out a quote from Jennifer Moon in particular. When this all started in 2010 she said:

“I think the thing that stood out most to me was how we have connected women from all over the world and created lifelong friendships. That was what I wanted most out of POSH: to create a community of strong women filmmakers and photographers, one that we could bond within and help each other out.”…/Inspiration-in-Full-Sail-POSH-2010…

Mission accomplished Jen and Reagan. This little gathering has given me some of my closest, most supportive and enduring friendships. Thank you.

Our last day at the Alta Peruvian, I went out to play in the snow with our friends from Key Moment Films (based in Miami). So. Much. Fun. Two Florida girls and a Bahamian, this was something totally new for all three of us, and we brought a little classic Florida style to the shoot with Mary’s signature Lilly Pulitzer and the fab flamingo’s!

The song is “Toony” by Adrian Walther and licensed through Sound Stripe Music. Enjoy!

PS – This Florida native has decided she loves SNOW! {well at least the soft powdery Utah variety…}
